About THORChain
THORChain is a decentralized cross-chain liquidity protocol that enables native asset swaps between major blockchains — including Bitcoin, Ethereum, and other UTXO and EVM chains — without wrapped tokens or bridges. Liquidity providers deposit native assets into THORChain's continuous liquidity pools and earn swap fees, while validators (nodes) bond RUNE as collateral to secure the network and process cross-chain transactions. RUNE is the native token that acts as the settlement asset in every swap, and is used for bonding, liquidity provision, and governance.
How to earn rewards by staking RUNE
THORChain uses a bonded node model rather than traditional delegation. Node operators bond RUNE to run a validator node and earn a share of swap fees and block rewards. Retail users can earn yield by providing liquidity to THORChain pools via supported interfaces. Unbonding requires a churning period before RUNE is returned.
